Salt Water_ When you change environments your senses start to overload as you experience things for the first time. I still remember my first salt water fly-fishing trip. The vast open flats and shallow water as far as my eye could see. The flats seem so desolate yet you never know what you might run into. Growing up fly-fishing in the Rocky Mountains for trout in freestone rivers made fishing the salt water flats for the first time the most out of this world experience for me. I was baffled when casting to fish as big as me that when hooked could drain your fly-line and dig deep into your backing in the blink of an eye. I still get excited to see whats swimming around out in the ocean. It's the polar opposite to what I get to experience all summer and that's what has kept my attention and drawn me all over, from the Gulf Coast, to the Caribbean to the Pacific all in search of anything that will eat a fly.
